The Power of Being on Mission Together

Bill Reichart and guest Giovanna Owen discuss the amazing impact that going on a CMDA Global Health Outreach trip had on her.
Giovanna Owen grew up in the middle of nowhere in Paris, TN! From an early age, she grew to love the outdoors, spending most of her time playing soccer, obsessing over TN football games, and running around on her Grandaddy’s farm. From that quiet and simple life, she moved out to Riverside, CA (culture shock!) to pursue a degree in Biomedical Science from California Baptist University. Her heart for discipleship and missions was cultivated while she was attending CBU, and she was blessed to be able to travel to Taiwan with a team to do community development work for children and adults who have special needs. While there, they hiked into the jungle and built a wheelchair accessible area so that children who were wheelchair bound could learn to belay up trees! The trip encouraged her to pursue a career that would allow her to have opportunities to partake in God’s global mission for His people. She is now an OMS III student at Rocky Vista University COM in Parker, CO, having completed their Master of Biomedical Science program before beginning medical school. She is in awe of the goodness of Jesus, and how He has allowed her to play a small, but important role in His mission! She is so thankful to be able to talk about the impact of CMDA on her life as well and how it plays into the opportunities in overseas medicine.
