OUR MISSION & VISION

CMDA Cincinnati exists to encourage, strengthen, and equip healthcare professionals to: live out the character of Christ in their homes, workplaces, communities, and around the world; cultivate communities to reach, mentor, and partner with healthcare professionals; pursue professional excellence and compassion through Christ-centered care; and provide spaces of dialogue to address relevant healthcare issues.

Meetings & Activities

The medical students meet regularly for Bible study during the school year as well as for special events.

We offer regular virtual devotionals and small groups for physicians wanting to learn how to integrate their faith in their practice.

Events & Conferences

We regularly attend the Global Health and Missions Conference in Louisville, KY in the fall. Each year, we host a nationally or internationally renown speaker. Some past speakers have included Eric Metaxas, N.T. Wright, Vince and Jo Vitale and Jennifer Wiseman.

Engaging & Discipling Medical Students

Giving to CMDA Cincinnati enables us to continue our ministry among medical school students and local healthcare workers. With your donations, we purchase resources to equip and disciple medical school students, host speakers that address relevant topics for both students and local healthcare workers, and provide the associate director's salary.

Take Action with Us

Some local physicians travel internationally for medical missions and invite students to join when appropriate.

Both local and global missions are areas we would like to expand. If you are interested in coordinating a local service opportunity or global medical missions trip, please let Scott know.

Scott Burns

Cincinnati Associate Director

The Lord led Scott and his family to Cincinnati in 2015. This move allowed Scott to serve as the Associate Pastor of Kenwood Baptist, and it allowed his youngest son to get much needed long-term care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Prior to his role at Kenwood, Scott served as the Youth & Family Pastor at Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone NC – a church with strong connections to Samaritan’s Purse. He is a graduate of Appalachian State, and cut his ministry teeth in campus ministry with InterVarsity. Scott earned an M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has been in fulltime ministry since 2002. He has led six mission trips to El Salvador, spoken at various youth camps, and enjoys just about anything connected to Jesus and the church.

His life verse is John 3:30, “He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease.” Scott’s part-time role with CMDA blends nicely with his role at Kenwood. If he’s not serving in either ministry, he’s probably hanging out with his wife, or at least one of his five children. You might also find him cheering on the Reds, an exercise in patient perseverance.

We would love to hear from you.
