Grant Hewitt, MDiv

Support Grant's Ministry in the Southern Region

Grant has been with CMDA since 2017. In the early 2000s, at the University of Nebraska (Lincoln) he met his wife Kelsi, earned a B.S. in Exercise Science, but most importantly, was brought to saving faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 21. Up until that point, his goal was to attend physical therapy school, but after his conversion he instead accepted an invitation at his church to be a pastoral intern for 2 years. The next eight years were spent teaching at, and directing 3 medically-supervised diet and exercise programs in Omaha, NE. But again, God had other plans. After reading Jim Elliot's biography, The Shadow of the Almighty, he decided to redirect his priorities and entire life. In early 2014, following much prayer and heart searching, he along with his pregnant wife, decided to sell their newly purchased "dream home", quit his career, and move their three little children (4, 3, and 1, at the time) to Kentucky to attend Southern Seminary in Louisville. 3 years later, by the grace of God, he found CMDA.

Midwest Associate Regional Director
Connor Ham, MA
Midwest CMDA
Cincinnati, Ohio

Allan J. Harmer, ThM, DMin is an ordained minister, having received a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Prior to joining the staff of Christian Medical & Dental Associations, he served for nine years as an Associate Pastor over Christian Education and Family Ministries in suburban Washington, D.C.

During his years in our nation's capital, Allan also served as an Associate Staff trainer with Leadership Dynamics International, leading seminars in: Leadership Development; Team Building; and Faith Planning. He also served as a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Washington Bible College.

Born in a small northeast Nebraska farming community, Allan committed his life to Jesus Christ as Savior at seven years of age through the testimony of his father. Later during his college days he led a weekly Bible study and became persuaded of the importance of further training in God's Word.

Allan joined the staff of Christian Medical & Dental Associations in 1988 as the Midwest Regional Director His responsibilities, which comprise an 11 state area and more than 5,000 members, includes: leadership training among student leaders and faculty advisors on more than 80 medical, dental and podiatric campuses; organizing continuing education events, developing community ministry among doctors and providing personal counseling for CMDA members. Allan currently supervises 23 full and part-time staff.

In addition to his regional responsibilities, Allan served as a staff advisor to CMDA's Medical Malpractice Ministry and for seven years served as CMDA's National Field Director.

Concerned about the needs in their community, Allan and his wife Karen have served on their local Campus Life Board, volunteered at an inner city mission, led a ministry to young single professionals in their church and led a home Bible Study for young married couples. Karen just completed her fifth term on their local school board (elected office). The Harmer's have four children, eight grand-children and live in Fishers, Indiana (a suburb of Indianapolis).

Connor Ham grew up in Defiance, Ohio and after giving his life to Christ at age 15, he discerned a call to ministry. He started a Bible study group in his public high school and was also involved with his area’s Youth for Christ chapter and helped to organize several gospel “crusades” in 2013 and 2014.    Following graduation, he attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated with his BA in Biblical Languages (i.e. Hebrew and Greek) in 2018. While at Moody, he was involved with on-campus men’s ministries and was appointed to the executive committee for men’s ministries during his senior year.

He continued with his studies by working on his Master of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies at KU Leuven in Belgium, which he completed in the summer of 2020. He then moved back to Ohio and began his PhD work in Cincinnati in August of 2020 at Hebrew Union College, studying ancient Christian and Jewish literature.

Along with his PhD studies, Connor has been involved with young adult ministry at Kenwood Baptist Church and also ministered as CMDA associate staff in Cincinnati.

In January 2022, Connor began as CMDA’s Midwest Associate Regional Director with plans for him to succeed Allan Harmer as Midwest Regional Director in January 2023.
