OUR MISSION & VISION

 

Connecting Physicians and Dentists for Gospel-centered Community and Biblical Spiritual Formation At CMDA's Knoxville Chapter, we are committed to providing fellowship, mentoring, and encouragement to Christian healthcare professionals in Knoxville, TN. We exist to support and connect the medical professionals who desire Christian community amongst their peers alongside medical and dental students who can find mentorship, fellowship and Biblical foundations for their future careers. CMDA Knoxville Chapter ensures that Christian healthcare professionals in Knoxville, TN, are better prepared to persevere in the unique situations they find themselves in. Supporting one another in the midst of this is our goal. We connect healthcare professionals in the Knoxville area to help them navigate the complex life of medicine with a Biblical perspective. Monthly meetings with your peers occur on the second Tuesday of each month. Reach out via email for time and place!

We long to see transformed healthcare practitioners transforming the world

Through our Student Ministry, we provide mentoring and encouragement to area medical and dental schools, including UT and LMU programs. This is one of our key areas of focus here at CMDA Knoxville Chapter, and a source of joy to our members to be able to help students in this time of their lives. They attend our monthly meetings and we often host student directed panels on the LMU Knoxville Campus. We support the Bible studies and student gatherings and celebrate graduating seniors.

CMDA Knoxville Chapter is dedicated to supporting our Christian healthcare professionals in Knoxville, TN. Our Donations provide resources to purchase meals and rent venues as well as support student mission trips and conference attendance.

Eric Penniman

Eric Penniman, DO

Director

The incoming director will be Eric Penniman, DO. He is also a family physician and is employed at Summit Medical Group as their Executive Medical Director. He has significant experience in short term medical missions work including to the middle east and has traveled extensively with CMDA's GHO and has a heart for students.

Jessica Ellis

Jessica Ellis

Knoxville Ministry Assistant

Jess Ellis is a wife to her wonderful husband and a mom to three precious kiddos who are her pride and joy. Jess grew up going on GHO trips as a teenager and found a love for medical missions through it. She loves the outdoors, music, and hiking with her family. She’s excited to come alongside the Knoxville CMDA chapter and support in any way she can!
